Fertilizer Coating Agent for Compound Fertilizer Surface Consistency

Compound-fertilizer producers often need to balance material selection, granule quality and practical plant operation in the same development program. The surface of a finished granule may influence how a product is visually reviewed, handled, packaged and positioned in the market. A fertilizer coating agent should therefore be assessed as one element of a complete compound-fertilizer system.

Our Fertilizer Coating Agent is supplied as a yellow liquid at temperatures of 25°C or above. Its available reference data include an acid value of 0.51 mgKOH/g, viscosity of 683 mPa·s at 25°C, hydroxyl value of 249 mgKOH/g and moisture content of 0.3%. Production teams can use these values as part of their internal material-identification and trial-planning process.

Surface consistency is a development objective that requires direct observation. The underlying fertilizer recipe, granule shape, particle-size range, surface condition and coating equipment all influence the final result. A coating process should be reviewed under representative operating conditions rather than being judged from a laboratory material description alone.

Illustrative manufacturing scenario: A producer prepares coated samples from one compound-fertilizer grade using a documented application sequence. The team records the fertilizer batch, coating-agent batch, material temperature, mixing conditions and sample-retention time. Visual inspection is conducted against the company’s agreed comparison standard, followed by any additional handling or quality checks required for the intended product.

This type of evaluation can help a manufacturer identify which variables deserve further optimization before transferring a trial to a larger line. It does not establish a universal coating condition or guarantee a particular granule appearance. Each finished fertilizer requires its own process verification and product review.

By combining traceable material data with a focused granule-surface evaluation plan, compound-fertilizer teams can create a stronger basis for technical decision-making and differentiated product development.
